The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, has developed a four-point plan to collaborate with Ukraine in order to bring an end to the war.

He stated that the United Kingdom, along with France and other countries, will intensify their efforts for what he calls a “volunteer coalition” and seek the inclusion of the United States in it.

This plan from Starmer came two days after a heated confrontation between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House before the media.

Starmer’s four-point plan includes:

  • Continuing military aid to Ukraine and increasing economic pressure on Russia.
  • Ensuring that any peace agreement guarantees Ukraine’s sovereignty and security, as well as its involvement in peace negotiations.
  • In the event of a peace agreement, strengthening Ukraine’s defense to prevent any future invasions.
  • Forming a “volunteer coalition” to protect a peace agreement and ensure future security.

He also announced additional funding for Ukraine amounting to £1.6 billion ($2 billion), which will be used to purchase more than 5,000 air defense missiles. This aid is in addition to a £2.2 billion loan for further military assistance to Ukraine, supported by profits from frozen Russian assets.

“We must learn from the mistakes of the past. We cannot accept a weak agreement that Russia could easily violate. Any agreement must be backed by strength,” said Starmer.

In conclusion, Starmer did not specify which countries are part of this “volunteer coalition,” but stated that those involved will work on their urgent plans to find a solution.

“Europe must bear the main burden,” he said, adding that the agreement would need U.S. support and should include Russia, but without allowing Moscow to dictate the terms.

“Let me make it clear: we agree with Trump on the urgent need for a sustainable peace. Now we must achieve it together,” Starmer said.
