The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, on the evening of March 5, signed decrees declaring unconstitutional laws, passed by the National Assembly of this entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which prohibit the activities of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia (VSTS).

Among these laws is one concerning the Special Register and the transparency of the work of non-profit organizations.

Earlier in the day, the Bosniak Club in the Council of Peoples, a legislative body of Republika Srpska (RS), did not activate the mechanism of vital national interest, which could have potentially prevented the law from taking effect, which bans the work of judicial and prosecutorial institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in that entity.

The laws were passed by the National Assembly of RS on February 27 as the primary legislative body.
