Italian soldiers from the Regional Command West of KFOR (Kosovo Force) have conducted patrols along the border line with Serbia, north of Istog.

KFOR has stated that border monitoring is a daily responsibility for its units.

“The presence in this area is crucial for contributing to the maintenance of security and stability,” said KFOR in a statement.

KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, ensuring freedom of movement at all times and impartially.

The mission works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), each fulfilling their respective security roles.
