The U.S. military has struck more than 1,000 targets in Yemen since mid-March, according to a statement released by the U.S. Department of Defense late Tuesday.

The airstrikes are part of an ongoing campaign against Houthi rebels, who control large areas of Yemen.

“Since March 15, CENTCOM (U.S. Central Command) strikes have hit over 1,000 targets, killed fighters and Houthi leaders, and degraded their capabilities,” said Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell.

The Houthis have been targeting ships in the Red Sea since late 2023 in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, amid the devastating war between Hamas and Israel.

They have also claimed responsibility for missile attacks directly targeting Israel, although Israel reports successfully intercepting those missiles.
