The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, along with her husband, First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu, has traveled to Brunei on an historic state visit, invited by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the absolute monarch of the Southeast Asian country. This marks the first-ever official visit by a President of Kosovo to Brunei, highlighting a significant moment in strengthening the international relations of the country.

During her stay in Brunei Darussalam, President Osmani will be received with high state honors at the official residence Istana Nurul Iman, where she will hold bilateral meetings with Sultan Bolkiah. His Majesty and his wife, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, will host a state banquet in honor of the President of Kosovo and her husband, emphasizing the respect and importance Brunei places on this visit.

As part of her agenda, President Osmani will deliver a speech at the University of Brunei Darussalam, addressing the diplomatic corps, students, and academic staff. She will also have special meetings with other members of the royal family, government cabinet representatives, and visit some of Brunei’s most well-known cultural monuments, in recognition of the country’s historical heritage.

This visit further strengthens Kosovo’s goal of expanding strategic partnerships outside of the European continent, increasing its presence on the global stage, and opening pathways for future economic, educational, and diplomatic cooperation.
