The Municipality of Pristina has announced that the scheduled reception for the internationally renowned band “Gipsy Kings,” planned for today, May 14, 2025, at 16:00 with Mayor Përparim Rama, has been canceled.
According to the statement, the cancellation comes as a result of the urgent prioritization of recent developments related to a waste management crisis. The municipal waste company “Pastrimi” has called for immediate attention from the mayor to address the emergency.
Mayor Rama had previously announced plans to meet with the globally famous group today.
Meanwhile, the Regional Waste Company “Pastrimi SH.A.” has declared that it is forced to suspend garbage collection services across the territory of the Municipality of Pristina.
In an official statement, the company cites the reason as the municipality’s failure to pay an outstanding debt, which now amounts to €2.7 million.
