The meeting of the seven nations is taking place amidst the growing conflict between Israel and Iran, with Trump’s trade war also expected to be a central focus, AP reports. Israel’s attacks on Iran and Tehran’s retaliation, which seemingly caught many world leaders by surprise, are the latest sign of a more unstable world.
Trump recently opposed an Israeli plan to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a U.S. official told The Associated Press. This has been seen as an indicator of how far Israel is prepared to go.
