Israel’s Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, issued a stern warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
He cautioned that Khamenei could meet the same fate as Saddam Hussein the former Iraqi leader who was overthrown and executed following the 2003 U.S. intervention, reports klankosova.tv.
“I warn the Iranian dictator not to continue with war crimes and rocket attacks against Israeli civilians,” Katz said, according to local media.
This statement comes amid heightened tensions, as Iran claims that dozens of civilians have been killed in Israeli strikes that began last Friday.
“It would be wise for him [Khamenei] to remember the fate of the dictator of the neighboring country who chose the same path against the State of Israel,” added the minister.
Katz also confirmed that Israeli strikes against regime and military targets in Tehran will continue today, reiterating calls for civilians to evacuate the Iranian capital.
