U.S. President Donald Trump revealed on Tuesday (June 17) that he had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which he rejected Moscow’s offer to mediate the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
“I spoke to him yesterday,” Trump told reporters at the White House, without disclosing details of the conversation, according to Interfax.
Trump made it clear that he’s not currently interested in Putin’s mediation offer.
“He offered to help with mediation. I told him, ‘Do me a favor. Take care of your own country first. Let’s mediate for Russia first. Take care of the rest later,’” Trump said.
