French President Emmanuel Macron has instructed Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot to coordinate with European partners on a negotiated proposal to end the fighting between Israel and Iran.
According to a statement from the Élysée Palace, Macron convened a national security and defense council on Wednesday to discuss the escalating situation in Iran.
“It is essential that these military operations come to an urgent end, as they pose serious threats to regional security,” Macron said.
Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry—like many others—is currently working to facilitate the evacuation of French nationals from both Israel and Iran.
