Lumir Abdixhiku, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has stated on Dukagjini’s Debat Plus that the country is in a crisis because Members of Parliament are intentionally convening without any real prospect of change.
Abdixhiku also commented on statements made by Memli Krasniqi, the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), who had discussed votes from other parties regarding government formation.
“We are in a crisis because we are meeting with full awareness that there will be no change, and behind the political scenes, with good intentions, there isn’t even a single movement to form a majority,” Abdixhiku asserted. “Secondly, we have an urgency, and for this, we must agree that we have an urgency.”
He continued, “Firstly, I do not prefer the logic of ‘bring me 19 votes and I’ll do whatever I want, and then we’ll form the government,’ because politics doesn’t work like that; it’s not a single wagon. Secondly, let’s say this very clearly: for the New Democratic Party, Emilia Rexhepi speaks, not Memli Krasniqi. The LDK takes the statement of the leader of the New Democratic Party as official. Memli can speak for the 24 deputies of the PDK.”
