The German Embassy in Kosovo stated that the current political situation, including the ongoing institutional deadlock, is impeding the advancement of important legislative proposals deemed essential for further progress, Reporteri.net reports.

The embassy’s statement follows today’s launch of an awareness campaign against celebratory gunfire.

“Kosovo has made significant progress in addressing the issue of Small Arms and Light Weapons. We express our sincere gratitude to the Kosovo Police for their dedication and tireless work in this regard,” the statement read. “However, the current political situation, including the parliamentary blockade, is hindering the advancement of important legislative proposals that are essential for further progress.”

The newly launched awareness campaign represents a valuable initiative aimed at promoting understanding of the dangers posed by the careless use of weapons within the community.

Notably, today marked the 41st failed attempt to constitute the Assembly.
