On July 3, explosions were heard in Kyiv after Russia launched a wave of drone attacks across Ukraine. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Military Administration, confirmed that one drone was shot down in the Solomianskyi district of the capital, with no casualties reported, according to Rks News.

Tkachenko urged residents to seek shelter and remain cautious due to the risk of further strikes. Ukraine’s Air Force reported that drones were active in the eastern Kyiv region during the attack.

The assault came just hours after a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, during which the Kremlin reaffirmed its commitment to continue military objectives in Ukraine, despite Western calls for a ceasefire.

In recent weeks, Russian attacks have intensified, with the use of Iranian-made Shahed drones hitting Ukrainian cities in record numbers. Ukrainian officials warn these attacks aim to weaken air defenses and terrorize civilians.
