PRISTINA, Kosovo – July 5, 2025 – Kosovo’s Emergency Management Agency, disseminated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has urged all citizens to exercise increased caution during the summer season due to high temperatures and the heightened risk of fires.
Serious Consequences of Fires
The appeal emphasizes that fires in forests, fields, and open spaces cause extensive material damage, pollute the air, destroy nature, and endanger the lives and safety of citizens.
Arson Is a Criminal Offense
The agency also highlighted that arson is a criminal offense, stating, “It is worth noting and making it known that deliberate arsons, as well as those caused by negligence, are criminal offenses punishable by law.”
“Any person who causes a fire, damaging public or private property, or endangering the lives of citizens and the environment, faces criminal prosecution and punitive measures according to the legislation in force.”
