Croatia is experiencing a sudden weather shift, with severe storms impacting several regions across the country. The capital, Zagreb, was hit around 10:00 AM by powerful winds that uprooted trees and damaged private property, while heavy rainfall and thunderstorms swept across the city.

Orange Alert Issued Amidst Unstable Weather

Authorities have issued an orange alert for the regions of Slavonia, Istria, Kvarner, and Dalmatia, with the rest of the country under a yellow alert. Temperatures are expected to plummet by more than 10°C in some areas compared to yesterday.

According to the DHMZ Meteorological Service, today will be characterized by unstable weather with heavy rain and localized storms, accompanied by strong northwestern and southern winds dominating throughout the territory, including the Adriatic coast.

Similar weather conditions, including torrential rainfall and thunderstorms, are forecast for tomorrow. From Wednesday, the weather is expected to improve with clearer skies returning, though some inland areas may still experience intermittent rainfall.
