Passengers on a Belgrade-Tirana flight were left stranded in sweltering conditions at Belgrade’s “Nikola Tesla” airport on Tuesday afternoon. Albanian journalist Blendi Fevziu published distressing footage he received from one of the Albanian travelers affected.

According to the latest information, passengers were trapped inside a bus meant to transport them from the terminal to the aircraft on the tarmac. Due to extremely high temperatures and a malfunctioning air conditioning system on the bus, the Albanian passengers faced severe distress.

In the video, citizens can be heard pleading for help from Serbian police, while some resorted to breaking the bus window to get air. “This is not normal, we are dying here. There’s even a 2-year-old child here. Open the door!” one passenger is heard shouting, as police officers reportedly did not react.

The Belgrade-Tirana flight route is a regular service. Yesterday alone, two flights were scheduled to Tirana’s “Mother Teresa” airport, but one of them was canceled.
