Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has delivered a firm and uncompromising message regarding the ongoing negotiations with Hamas, warning that if concrete results are not achieved within two months, Israel will resort to military action.
In a video statement released by his office, Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s stance on the release of hostages and the conditions for a lasting ceasefire.
“We are determined to bring all the hostages home. At the beginning of the ceasefire, we will immediately enter negotiations to permanently end the war,” Netanyahu said. “But to achieve this goal, there are minimum conditions: Hamas must be disarmed, Gaza must be demilitarized, and Hamas must not retain any military or governing capacity.”
The Israeli leader made it clear that diplomacy is the preferred path, but not the only one.
“If these goals can be achieved through diplomatic means, so much the better. But if this does not happen within 60 days of the ceasefire, we will achieve it by other means — through the force and power of our heroic military,” Netanyahu declared.
The statement comes amid fragile ceasefire discussions and increasing international pressure to end the conflict, while hostilities and tensions remain high in the region.
