NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced today that Turkey will host the next NATO Summit on July 7–8, 2026, in Ankara.

The summit will take place at the Bestepe Presidential Complex (Külliye). In his statement, Rutte thanked Turkey for organizing this “important summit.” He also emphasized that “at our next summit, leaders will continue to build a stronger and fairer alliance” that will be ready “to face the critical security challenges ahead.”

This year’s summit was held in June in The Hague, Netherlands, where NATO member states committed to increasing their defense spending to 5% of their GDP by 2035.

Turkey also previously hosted a NATO Summit in 2004, in Istanbul.
