The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Kac, has issued a severe warning that the city of Gaza could face destruction if the Palestinian group Hamas does not comply with Israel’s conditions. This comes as Israel prepares for a major offensive in the region.
Following a statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allowing the Israeli army to take control of Gaza, Kac warned that the city could be reduced to the level of Rafah or Beit Hanun, which were heavily damaged in previous conflicts.
Kac emphasized on social media that “the gates of hell will almost open over the heads of Hamas killers and rapists in Gaza” until the group meets Israel’s demands to end the conflict.
Israel’s conditions include the full release of all hostages and the complete disarmament of Hamas. While Hamas has agreed to release hostages in exchange for a ceasefire, it refuses to disarm without the establishment of a Palestinian state.
This latest escalation highlights the rising tensions in Gaza and the ongoing stalemate between Israel and Hamas, raising concerns about wider humanitarian consequences for civilians in the enclave.
