The death toll from floods in Yemen, caused by heavy rains over the past two days, has reached at least eight people, including children and a father with his son, according to official reports.

In the northwestern Hajjah province, a house collapsed on its residents in the village of al-Khadraa in Ku’aydinah, claiming the lives of three children and injuring their parents. In the Abs district, also in Hajjah, the floods destroyed dozens of shelters built for displaced persons.

Meanwhile, in the southeastern oil-rich province of Shabwah, a father and his son drowned in floodwaters, while two children and a young man lost their lives in separate incidents in Shabwah and Hadhramaut.

These fatalities follow warnings from authorities about continued rainfall and the risk of new floods, while infrastructure damaged by conflict further exacerbates the humanitarian situation.
