Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has expressed his heartfelt condolences following the passing of renowned journalist and analyst Artur Zheji, who died at the age of 64.
In a social media post, Kurti praised Zheji as a prominent figure in Albanian media, highlighting his dedication and intellectual depth in covering sensitive issues of national importance.
“Artur Zheji was not just a war reporter, but an activist journalist, an enlightened patriot, and a committed chronicler who helped internationalize our cause and amplify the rightful demand for freedom,” Kurti wrote.
Kurti also acknowledged Zheji’s family background, noting his father, Petro Zheji, a well-known intellectual from Gjirokastra, and his mother, Besa Imami, a celebrated actress from Gjakova.
The Prime Minister extended his sympathies to Zheji’s family, relatives, colleagues, and the wider public who followed and valued his work throughout his career.
