A delegation from Kosovo, including Chief Executive of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (IPK), Kushtrim Hodaj, and Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Fehmi Hoti, is attending the annual conference of the National Internal Affairs Investigators Association (NIAIA) in Louisville, Kentucky, United States.

According to an official statement, the Kosovo delegation was welcomed by Board Chairman Captain Chris Ray, members of the NIAIA Board, and officials from other delegations of Police Oversight Agencies across the U.S.

The conference is focusing on critical topics such as:

  • Strengthening the integrity of police officers
  • Professional aspects of the use of force
  • The impact of technology and artificial intelligence on official duties
  • Legal improvements in administrative and internal investigations

NIAIA is a U.S.-based organization comprised of police oversight mechanisms. This year’s conference gathers over 400 U.S. law enforcement officials and international representatives.

Since 2021, Kosovo has been a full member of NIAIA, marking the first European country to join the association alongside U.S. law enforcement oversight agencies.
