The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica – Department for Serious Crimes has filed an indictment against the suspect B.D. at the Basic Court in Mitrovica, in connection with the murder of 19-year-old A.Z. in Vushtrri.
The indictment charges the suspect with “Aggravated Murder” and “Unauthorized Possession of Weapons”, related to the tragic incident that took place on March 23, 2025, around 20:30, on Galip Badivuku Street in Vushtrri.
Details of the Crime
According to the prosecution, the suspect intentionally deprived the victim A.Z. of life by shooting him three times in the body.
The autopsy revealed that A.Z. suffered serious injuries to his lungs and liver, which led to massive bleeding and acute respiratory failure. Despite emergency medical intervention, the victim died shortly after at the Emergency Department of Vushtrri Hospital.
Furthermore, the prosecution underlined that the gunshots endangered the lives of other people present in the public area, making the crime even more severe.
Arrest and Weapon Seizure
During the suspect’s arrest, police seized the firearm used in the murder, which was found to be illegally possessed, in violation of Law No. 05/L-022 on Weapons.
The prosecution has requested the court to declare B.D. guilty of the charges and sentence him according to the law.
