Tirana, August 28, 2025 – The Regulatory Commission has fully approved the results of the Albanian parliamentary elections held on May 11, with three votes in favor and two against.
The distribution of seats is as follows:
- Socialist Party (PS): 83 seats
- Democratic Party – Alliance for Greater Albania (PD-Aleanca për Shqipërinë Madhështore): 50 seats
- Social Democratic Party (PSD): 3 seats
- Mundësia: 2 seats
- Lëvizja Bashkë: 1 seat
- Shqipëria Bëhet: 1 seat
The commission noted that no full consensus was reached, with opposition members challenging the results and criticizing the list of deputies sent to parliament, alleging double standards. The two opposition members of the Regulatory Commission did not physically approve the results, submitting their vote remotely rather than in person.
The opposition now has five days to appeal the results to the Election College. Following this period, the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, will officially decree the start of the 11th legislature within 10 days of the conclusion of the previous parliament. The first session of the new Parliament will mark the official beginning of the legislature for the next four years.
