Nenad Rašić, leader of the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival, declared that 95% of Serbs in Kosovo are not represented by Srpska Lista (Serb List). He accused the party of maintaining a majority in parliament while using “brutal force” against its own people.
Rašić made the statement after the parliamentary session was interrupted, where he once again failed to secure enough votes to be elected deputy speaker from the Serb community through a lottery-based voting procedure.
He explained that he had been in discussions with several deputies in recent days, but emphasized that many raised concerns about the constitutionality of the voting process. Rašić added that he would continue talks with colleagues from other parties, though he did not disclose specific names.
Earlier today, Speaker Dimal Basha suspended the constitutive session of the Assembly, stating that inter-party consultations would continue. Deputies of Srpska Lista were repeatedly put to a vote, but none of their candidates managed to gain the necessary majority.
The process began on Tuesday, when the first round of lottery-based voting was also interrupted after Rašić failed to gather sufficient support to assume the deputy speaker position.
