More than three weeks have passed since the escape of Gjorgj Radomirović, sentenced to 14 years and 6 months in prison for murder, attempted murder, possession of weapons and narcotics, as well as document forgery, yet there is still no trace of his whereabouts.
Radomirović escaped on August 7 from the Detention Center in North Mitrovica while in the prison’s workshop area. He was classified as a high-security prisoner and was eligible for potential conditional release. At the time of his escape, he had only 3 years and 7 months remaining on his sentence, reports IndeksOnline.
Following the escape, the Kosovo Correctional Service suspended the director of the North Mitrovica Detention Center, a senior supervisor, and two correctional officers, while internal investigations are still ongoing.
Specialized police units, including the K9 Unit, have been engaged in the search for the fugitive. So far, the search has yielded no concrete results.
The Kosovo Police have urged citizens who encounter the individual to immediately call 192 or contact the nearest police station.
