The office of Montenegro’s President, Jakov Milatović, has requested that the film “Lejleku” by Kosovar director Isa Qosja be shown again to the public, after its screening on September 3 was forcibly interrupted.
The disruption occurred due to the reaction of some citizens who, reportedly, did not accept the fact that the film was in the Albanian language.
“We expect the police and the Prosecutor’s Office to identify the perpetrators and prosecute them. It is important to ensure that the film is screened again,” the president’s office stated.
Organizers of the Xhada festival, where “Lejleku” was being shown, confirmed that an “unpleasant situation” had taken place and that the screening was interrupted for security reasons.
