Granit Xhaka spoke immediately after Switzerland’s 4:0 victory over Kosovo, where he delivered an outstanding performance and led his team to a comfortable win.
“I can say this was one of the best first halves we’ve played in a long time. But the second half wasn’t good. We didn’t do the things we had planned. Those who know me know that I am self-critical and also critical of the team. We cannot be satisfied with the second half. If we had played like in the first half, we could have won 6:0 or 7:0. It’s a pity it ended only 4:0, even though it was a deserved result,” said Xhaka.
He added that the next step for Switzerland must be dominating matches for 60, 70, or 90 minutes—not just 45.
“We have many young players who may still need time to play consistently for 90 minutes. But we wanted the three points, and we secured them comfortably.”
