The leader of Alternativa, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, has revealed the latest offer made to Nisma Socialdemokrate by Vetëvendosje.
Speaking on ATV, Kusari said that the party refused the opportunity to nominate a candidate for Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
“The Nisma Socialdemokrate party refused to have a proposal for a Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. The offer was that, not necessarily the first deputy, as discussed with the parliamentary group among us, but they had the possibility to propose depending on the gender requirements foreseen in the Assembly Rules of Procedure. If the Speaker of the Assembly is a man, then the first deputy must be of the opposite gender, and vice versa. Therefore, after the election of the Speaker of the Assembly, Dimal Basha, Nisma Socialdemokrate did not respond to the offer to propose one of their two MPs as Deputy Speaker,” she stated.
