The suspect in the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been arrested, law enforcement confirmed on Friday.

According to Utah Governor Spencer Cox, the suspect is 22-year-old Tyles Robinson.

As reported by CNN, Robinson was identified by his own father after the FBI released photos of him last night. His father urged him to surrender to the authorities.

“He also reached out to a pastor for help. The pastor then contacted the U.S. Marshals Service, which ultimately led to the suspect’s arrest,” CNN reported.

This development comes amid high political tensions following the assassination, with global leaders commenting on the case.
