In the framework of bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Albania, the International Training Center for Search and Rescue of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) has successfully carried out advanced training in mountain search and rescue, with the participation of the Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) and the KSF members.

The training was conducted across some of the most challenging and characteristic terrains for rescue operations, including the Rappelling Tower at the International Training Center, Guri i Plakës, the Mountain Hut in Prizren, Via Ferrata “Panorama”, and the Jazhinica Lake.

Participants were trained in:

  • Rope tying techniques and usage
  • Climbing and rappelling in alpine terrains
  • Navigation in mountainous areas
  • First aid and trauma management in harsh conditions
  • Evacuation of injured individuals from steep terrains

“This training marks an important step toward strengthening response capacities in mountain emergencies and further enhances the interoperability between the two forces – the Albanian Armed Forces and the Kosovo Security Force,” the statement concluded.
