The Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma) officially launched its campaign for the upcoming October 12 local elections at the Klan Arena.

Nisma announced it will compete with around 400 candidates for municipal assemblies and six candidates for mayoral positions across Kosovo.

The event opened with a speech by Xhevahire Izmaku, the party’s candidate for mayor of Vushtrri, who emphasized the need for genuine decision-making in the municipality.

“Today marks a new era for me – a new initiative. I accepted the trust given by Chairman Limaj and entered this race because Vushtrri needs a real mayor. Unfortunately, in Vushtrri, governance is not carried out by the mayor, but only signed by him,” Izmaku declared.

The campaign launch sets the stage for Nisma’s effort to strengthen its presence in local governance, as competition intensifies ahead of the elections.
