Around 10,000 Albanians from across the world gathered near the Special Court building in The Hague to protest in defense of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

“Justice and freedom for the liberators” was the key demand expressed by protesters, said Fatmir Koci, the representative of the Protest Council for Europe.

“The protest went very well. It is clear that a very large number, around 10,000 people, participated. As the organizing council, we thank everyone for their help, support, and solidarity. Our message is clear: we demand freedom and justice for the KLA leaders,” Koci declared.

Albanians from Kosovo, the Presheva Valley, Albania, North Macedonia, the diaspora, and the United States joined together in today’s protest in defense of the KLA.

“I strongly believe that our message will be heard and that this protest will positively influence the court, especially as tomorrow American officials will begin testifying. The first will be James Rubin, and we expect major changes,” Koci added for KosovaPress.

The protest comes just one day before the hearing of the first defense witness in The Hague.
