The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo announced the start of postal voting for 43,933 citizens registered to vote abroad in the upcoming local elections for municipal mayors and assemblies.
Besnik Buzhala, Director of the Secretariat of the CEC (SKQZ) and Director of the Office for Registration, Certification, and Financial Control of Political Entities (ZRCKFSP), presented a report on election preparations during Wednesday’s meeting. He highlighted that a significant portion of the ballot packages have already been sent abroad.
“So far, around 10,000 individual ballot packages have been dispatched outside Kosovo, and an additional 5,000 packages are prepared and will be sent later today. The postal voting period has officially begun. According to the Postal Service, about 10,000 packages have been sent so far. A total of 43,933 voters have successfully registered. This process will conclude over the weekend,” Buzhala said.
The CEC also confirmed the addresses of postal voting boxes for Kosovans voting from abroad. The postal voting boxes are now operational in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Canada, Kosovo, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, United Kingdom, Norway, USA, Albania, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, and Switzerland.
