Today, at the Basic Court of Mitrovica, the initial hearing will be held regarding the criminal case against the vice-president of Srpska List, Slavko Simiq, and Uroš Vukasinović.

On June 13, 2025, the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica announced that it had filed an indictment against the individual with initials S.S., a member of the Kosovo Assembly, suspected of committing the criminal offense of “Participation in a crowd committing a criminal offense and hooliganism”, under Article 404, paragraph 2 in connection with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to the indictment:
On June 16, 2023, during protests against the visit of former minister E.K. in Leposaviq, the defendant S.S., intentionally participated in a crowd of more than eight people. At the moment when minister E.K. exited the municipal building, masked civilians began throwing stun grenades toward the official vehicle. After the vehicle passed, the defendant allegedly ordered the crowd to attack the media. This resulted in an attack against journalists and media outlets of the Republic of Kosovo, initially with stun grenades, followed by punches, kicks, and hard objects such as concrete blocks, bricks, paint, and other items. Two journalists sustained serious bodily injuries as a result.

Meanwhile, the other defendant, U.V., directly involved in the use of force against journalists of the Republic of Kosovo, is charged with committing the criminal offenses of “Assault” under Article 184, paragraph 3, subparagraph 3.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, and “Participation in a crowd committing a criminal offense and hooliganism”, under Article 404, paragraph 1 of the same Code.

The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, when filing the indictment, requested the court to find both defendants guilty of the committed criminal offenses and to sentence them according to the law.
