Italy has deployed 24 Italian Carabinieri to Kosovo ahead of the local elections scheduled for October 12.
The Italian Embassy in Prishtina stated that the Carabinieri were sent to help strengthen security prior to the elections, alongside other European partners.
“We are pleased to welcome 24 Italian Carabinieri to Kosovo, who, together with our European partners, will help reinforce security ahead of the upcoming local elections. As part of #EUROGENDFOR, they are forming the EULEX Reserve Formed Police Unit (RFPU), working to support stability and build trust within communities,” the statement said.
Italy emphasized that it remains committed to peace and security in Kosovo and throughout the Balkans.
