Germany will supply two additional advanced Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of this year, with support from Norwegian partners, announced German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

The statement came during a panel discussion titled “Winning the War: European Strategies for Ukraine” at the Warsaw Security Forum.

“Recent Russian attacks with over 580 drones and more than 40 missiles once again underline the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s air defense. That is exactly what we are doing. Germany has already delivered three Patriot systems, and by the end of this year, we will provide two more advanced systems with the support of our Norwegian partners,” Pistorius said.

He reaffirmed Germany’s unwavering support for Ukraine, noting:

“We are spending around €9 billion annually to support Ukraine in its courageous fight.”

The minister also stressed the importance of boosting Ukraine’s defense industry to ensure long-term security and resilience.
