A powerful storm has battered southern Italy, causing severe flooding in the tourist city of Agrigento and the coastal area of San Leone.
Streets have turned into raging rivers, with dramatic footage showing cars swept away and homes surrounded by water.
Authorities reported that a woman is missing, feared carried away by floodwaters while attempting to leave her stranded vehicle. Emergency services are continuing search and rescue operations in the area.
The storm is the aftermath of Hurricane Gabrielle, which has transitioned into an extratropical cyclone. It has already caused chaos in the Balearic Islands, Murcia, and Valencia, with Ibiza suffering massive floods earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the UK braces for Storm Amy, forecast to bring winds of up to 130 km/h, heavy rainfall, flood risks, landslides, power outages, and major travel disruptions.
