French President Emmanuel Macron has reaffirmed Paris’s unwavering support for Armenia’s independence, sovereignty, and democratic reform agenda during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Pashinyan’s office, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of the European Political Community in Copenhagen. The leaders reviewed recent regional developments, the agreements reached at the Washington Peace Summit, and the progress of the “TRIPP” project.

Both Macron and Pashinyan highlighted the “high level of privileged relations” between France and Armenia and underlined the need to pursue new joint initiatives to strengthen bilateral ties.

Also present at the summit was Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who met separately with Pashinyan. During their talks, both leaders emphasized the importance of the agreements reached at the Washington Summit, initiated by U.S. President Donald Trump, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue efforts toward peace consolidation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In addition to Macron and Aliyev, Prime Minister Pashinyan also held brief discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, European Council President António Costa, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The series of high-level meetings in Copenhagen underscores Armenia’s active engagement in European political dialogue and its efforts to advance peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
