The White House has responded exclusively to Top News following Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama’s joke about U.S. President Donald Trump, made in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Asked by a Top News journalist whether Rama’s remarks were perceived negatively or could affect bilateral relations, White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly gave a fully diplomatic answer:

“President Trump has done more for global stability than any other leader in the world!”

Rama’s comment in front of the two other leaders was described as “mocking” by some of the world’s most prestigious media outlets. However, the Prime Minister rejected that characterization, insisting that a humorous moment had been distorted with ill intent.

Rama also highlighted Trump’s positive role in engaging with conflict resolution efforts.
