Following today’s Assembly session, Lumir Abdixhiku, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), stated that his party believed Kosovo’s institutions should no longer remain blocked over a position as minor as the fifth Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.

“Since this was the decision of the Constitutional Court, we considered that for such an entirely insignificant parliamentary position as the fifth Deputy Speaker, the Assembly and Kosovo’s institutions should no longer be held hostage. We now enter constitutional deadlines — the rules are clear: either we have a government, or we go to new elections,” Abdixhiku said.

He added:

“The first party has been saying for months that it has the numbers — now we will see if they really do.”
