Beyond exerting pressure on the Serbian community in Kosovo, Serbia reportedly tried to interfere in today’s local elections through other means.
According to Gazeta Express, at the Bërnjak and Jarinje border crossings, Kosovo Police seized several voting materials and ballots that Serbia allegedly planned to use to manipulate the election process in municipalities where the Serb List (Lista Srpska) faces strong competition, such as Zubin Potok, where Stevan Vulovic and the Kosovski Savez are contesting against the Serb List candidate.
Sources indicate that the seized ballots were intended to be smuggled into Kosovo first and then inserted into the voting boxes.
Earlier, Gazeta Express also reported on pressure exerted by Serbia on Kosovo Serb voters, including the involvement of former police officers who resigned in 2022.
