European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has begun her official visit to Albania, where she was first received by President Bajram Begaj and later welcomed by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The visit is part of her regional tour across the Western Balkans, with the main focus on the EU membership process for the region and the €6 billion Growth Plan proposed by the European Union.
After her visit to Albania, von der Leyen is expected to travel to Kosovo and other countries in the region as part of her multi-day tour.
