Today, the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (PZAP) rejected the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK)’s request for a revote in South Mitrovica.

“Rejected, unfounded…” the PZAP decision stated at the beginning.

Following the decision, the PDK reacted strongly, calling the ruling unjust and unsupported by the reality of events in South Mitrovica.

“The Democratic Party of Kosovo expresses deep disappointment with the decision of the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (PZAP), which today rejected our complaint regarding irregularities observed in the electoral process in South Mitrovica. We consider this decision unfair and not reflective of what actually happened in Mitrovica,” the PDK said, emphasizing that it presented facts and evidence showing violations of the electoral process and disregard for citizens’ will.

The party stressed that it will not stop and will use all legal mechanisms in the Republic of Kosovo.

“Our next step is to file an appeal with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo, which is the final and decisive authority to guarantee justice and the integrity of the electoral process,” the PDK added.

PDK also affirmed its commitment to defending free, fair, and transparent voting.

“We seek nothing more than respect for the law and the expressed will of the citizens of Mitrovica,” the statement continued.

PZAP had rejected the complaint filed by PDK, which sought the repetition of the electoral process in South Mitrovica. In the decision published today, PZAP concluded that claims of irregularities during vote counting were unsubstantiated.
