UK Ambassador Hargreaves Urges Parties to Uphold Constitution After 28 December Elections

The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, met today with Nexhmi Rexhepi, President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, to discuss recent political developments in the country.

Ambassador Hargreaves emphasized the importance of political actors respecting the spirit of the Constitution following the upcoming 28 December elections. He also highlighted the need for a stable and functional government to be formed as soon as possible.

“Today I met with President of the Constitutional Court, Nexhmi Rexhepi. We discussed recent developments affecting Kosovo’s state institutions. I hope that after the 28 December elections, political parties and deputies will act in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution, so that a stable and functional government can be quickly restored,” Hargreaves wrote.

The ambassador’s remarks reflect ongoing international attention on Kosovo’s political stability and the smooth transition of government following the December vote.
