The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that, in order to facilitate voting outside Kosovo, postal ballot boxes are now operational in 23 different countries for voters registered to vote by mail.

Postal ballot boxes are available in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Canada, Kosovo, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom, Norway, the United States, Albania, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, and Switzerland.

“On December 14, the CEC began sending ballot packages to approximately 58,000 voters registered abroad for voting by mail in the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo. The ballots, printed in Slovenia, arrived in Kosovo on Friday, December 12. Following this, the CEC’s Voter Services prepared individual packages for each registered voter. Each postal package contains a unique tracking number, which has been sent to registered voters, allowing them to continuously track the location of their ballot package,” the CEC stated.

The CEC also announced that voting by mail will conclude on December 27, 2025.

“Ballot packages must be delivered to the address of one of the CEC’s postal ballot boxes in the country where voters reside, or to the nearest available postal box. The CEC encourages registered voters to do this as soon as possible so that the package reaches the postal box in time to be collected and sent to Kosovo for the counting process,” the announcement said.
