Renowned Serbian activist Nataša Kandić stated on social media that by accepting the Franco-German mediated agreement, the Brussels Agreement, and the Ohrid Annex, Serbia effectively recognized Kosovo as an independent state.

Kandić emphasized that the reality of an independent Kosovo emerged as a consequence of war crimes committed by Slobodan Milošević’s regime.

“Yes, by signing the Brussels Agreement, the Ohrid Agreement, and the Franco-German document, Aleksandar Vučić has accepted the reality – that Kosovo is an independent state. I would add that this reality is the result of war crimes committed by Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs,” Kandić wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Her statement highlights the long-standing political debate in Serbia over Kosovo’s status, framing Serbia’s acceptance of these agreements as an implicit acknowledgment of Kosovo’s sovereignty.
