Japan experienced a series of earthquakes today, with the strongest measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported.
The epicenter of the largest quake was located on Honshu Island, at a depth of seven kilometers and approximately 18 kilometers from the city of Matsumoto.
Honshu also experienced additional tremors measuring 4.7 and 4.3, while a 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred off the northern coast of Hokkaido in the open sea. Authorities confirmed that no tsunami warnings were issued.
So far, there are no reports of injuries or significant damage.
