The next court hearing in the “Banjska” case will be held today, as previously scheduled.
So far, the criminal proceedings have been separated only for three defendants who are currently in pretrial detention: Bagoje Spasojević, Vladimir Tolić, and Dušan Maksimović.
The main trial hearing against them was held on April 17, 2025, during which all three pleaded not guilty. They had also denied the charges during the initial hearing held on October 9, 2024. At the April session, opening statements were delivered by the special prosecutor, the defense, and the injured party.
The indictment in this case was filed on September 11, 2024, and concerns the terrorist attack of September 24, 2023, in Banjska, Zvečan.
According to the indictment, the defendants are suspected of attempting, through the use of violence and heavy weaponry, to separate the northern part of Kosovo and annex it to Serbia.
As a result of the attack, Kosovo Police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed, while the lives of other police officers and civilians were seriously endangered.
Note: The individuals mentioned in this article are presumed innocent until their guilt is proven by a final court verdict.
