The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment against N.C. for the criminal offense of “War Crimes Against the Civilian Population,” pursuant to the applicable legislation.
According to the indictment, there is well-founded suspicion that during the period 1998–1999, the accused N.C., acting in her official capacity as a prison guard at Pristina Prison, in the women’s ward in Lipjan, jointly with other prison officials, violated the rules of international humanitarian law during the armed conflict, namely during the war.
“The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment against N.C. for the criminal offense of ‘War Crimes Against the Civilian Population.’ There is well-founded suspicion that during the period 1998–1999, the accused N.C., in her capacity as an official serving as a prison guard at Pristina Prison, in the women’s ward in Lipjan acting in co-perpetration with other prison officials, violated the rules of international law during the armed conflict, specifically during the time of war,” the statement said.
